ACTING FOR THE CAMERA
All acting for the camera workshops will be recorded for the actor to assist in breaking down and cultivating a stronger camera technique. Actors will supply DV cam tape for each workshop.

Level I (Choose day)
Saturdays 10:30am to 12:00pm
Mondays 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Explores the basics of camera technique and builds comfort and confidence crucial for acting in front of the camera. Utilizing materials from current television and film productions including sitcoms, episodics, and feature films to cover auditioning, cold reading, and scene work. Class size limited to ten (10) actors.

ACTING FOR THE CAMERA FOR TEENS - Saturdays 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Explores acting for the camera technique geared for the younger actor. Utilizing age-appropriate materials from current film and television
productions covering hour-long dramas, sitcoms, and feature films as well as auditioning, cold reading, and scene work. Space limited to ten (10) actors. Must be at least thirteen (13) years old. Exceptions for younger will be made based on special circumstances or previous experience.

AUDITION WORKOUT - Mondays 8:30pm to 10:00pm
This workshop can be tailored to the actor's specific needs with regard to audition for stage or on camera. Actors are encouraged to bring in old and  new monologues, plus any current auditioning materials. The auditioning process will also be addressed. Occasionally, guest instructors will take part in this workshop to provide the actors with additional information  and feedback. Class size limited to ten (10) actors.


About the Instructor

Jason McCune has been a professional actor for fifteen years and worked extensively in the Los Angeles, Chicago, and Pittsburgh markets on stage and on screen. In Los Angeles he appeared in numerous television shows, including CSI: Miami, The West Wing, The Guardian, and Skin, and was seen as Charlie in Stones in His Pockets at the Mark Taper Forum and the critically acclaimed L.A. premiere of Ronan Noone’s The Lepers of Baile Baiste. In Chicago Jason played in the Jeff Award-nominated 1001 Afternoons In Chicago with Prop Thtr/Live Bait Theatre, The Glass Menagerie with Red Wolf Theater Co., and in Big Blue with First Read @ Second City, among others, as well as filming a series of spots for FSN Fox NFL. Locally, Jason has done commercials for the Pennsylvania Lottery, UPMC, and Roomful Express, as well as the television pilot for CBS's Smith.

On stage, he has worked the past three seasons with Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre (The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Playboy of the Western World, Synge Cycle), plus various shows and readings with Pittsburgh Playhouse Rep, City Theater, and Bricolage Theater. Other regional credits include The Cripple of Inishmaan at the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati; Henry V and Romeo and Juliet at American Players Theatre; Beowulf, The Taming of The Shrew, and Twelfth Night at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival (founding member).
