In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, our commitment to social distancing, and in cooperation with our sponsor, Nancy Mosser Casting, we’ve taken our VO classes online.  We’re hosting our classes on Zoom, the most popular online videoconferencing platform for training and education, and students are able use Zoom software for free in the comfort and safety of their homes.

We offer several curriculum “levels” to voice-over trainees, based on their experience:

TAKE 1Introductory/Overview classes for VO novices or those with little or long-ago experience;
TAKE 2 Intermediate classes for students who are grads of Introductory classes &/or have some VO experience;
TAKE 3 Advanced Demo Labs for VO Pros may include: group classes for demo prep, recording your demo in a professional commercial (or your own) studio, and the editing and mixing of your demo, all coached and produced by Amy & Jack.

Note that the lines between these categories are fuzzy, and most students will qualify for at least two of them at any given time.

*** NEW! ***

After getting a lot of comments from Intermediate students saying that they wanted to get right into “Doing their Demo,” and having any number of VO Pros contacting us to “RE-do their Demo,” we’re offering our first

Note:  Dates and fees are subject to adjustment, with your permission.

We’ve designed this course to reflect the three stages of producing a demo:

Phase 1Demo Prep:  Choose your material and thoroughly rehearse it, with scriptwriting and coaching by Amy with Jack providing back-up.
Five consecutive Thursday evenings, 7:00-9:30 PM: October 1,8,15, 22, 29 (subject to change)
Yield: You’ll be all ready for your VO Demo recording session.
Fee … $500

Phase 2 — Record your tracks: Includes a 2-hour recording session (more time available at student’s expense) in a professional commercial studio (or, for a lower fee, your pro-level home studio), directed by Jack with back-up by Amy.
Thursday evening sessions beginning Nov. 5.
Yield: You’ll come out of your session with all of the raw, full-resolution takes, with track notes, to take to your engineer/producer of choice (you?) to edit, mix and produce.
Fee … $500

Phase 3 — Produce your finished demo.  Jack will edit your VO tracks, add music & sound effects, order the bytes with segues, and mix the finished demo.  One approval pass so you can suggest revisions.  Production will be done in Jack’s home studio, and depending on the number of demos he’s working on, yours may be completed as early as mid-November or as late as late-December.
Yield: You will come away with a finished 2:00 (or so) VO demo with a 1-minute lift, in both broadcast-standard full-resolution .WAV files and MP3 files for duplication and distribution.
Fee … $500

In case you’d rather have yourself or someone else take care of a phase or two, you can choose to register for one, two, or all three phases at one time.

One Phase (as above) … $500
Two Phases
$900  ($100 discount)
All Three Phases (the whole enchilada) … $1,299  ($201 discount)

Registration for this workshop is limited to SIX students, and is BY INVITATION ONLY.  If you have questions, need advice, and/or want to be considered, please contact Amy or Jack.  If invited to participate, you’ll receive a private email containing the link to a special registration page.
